NFC Setup
A guide to setting up NFC tracking in your Coinfinity Stackers, Bins, and Universal Containers. You can track anything you want with an NFC and the Coinfinity App.
Overview
Coinfinity enhances your precious metal organization with NFC technology—enabling quick identification, cataloging, and verification of your collection using a smartphone.
Each Coinfinity stacker or bin is equipped with a 25mm NFC tag housed inside a custom Coinfinity badge. Once scanned, the tag links directly to the item’s profile in the Coinfinity App, keeping your digital inventory in sync with your physical stack. Only the stack ID and storage unit ID are stored in the NFC tag. Next time you scan this tag, the app will identify the stack or storage unit and load details from the app.
Getting Started
Coinfinity supports NTAG215 chips, and is optimized for 25mm round NFC tags, which are press-fit into a Coinfinity badge. You can purchase NFC chips at the Coinfinity Store or on Amazon. See the Bill Of Materials
Badge Types
You will receive or can print two types of NFC Badge designs:
- Stacker Badge
Designed to fit into the lid of any Coinfinity Stacker. Features:- Recessed slot for 25mm NFC tag
- Customizable face for labeling, engraving, or logos
- Secure press-fit design
- Universal Badge
A flat-backed version for sticking onto:- Cardboard boxes
- Coin tubes and flips
- Assay cards or slabs
- Any storage device you want to track
Both badge types support slicer customization for names, logos, or serial numbers.

Installation Instructions
Follow these steps to get your NFC tracking system up and running:
1. Acquire some NFC chips
We offer some in the Coinfinity Store, or you can buy them on Amazon. See the Bill of Materials
2. Print some badges
Print or obtain your NFC Badges from Coinfinity.US Use the provided STL files to 3D print your desired badge type (Stacker or Universal).
3. Insert the NFC tag
Remove the adhesive sticker from an NFC chip and press the 25mm NTAG215 chip into the recessed slot in the badge. Make sure it is flush and snug. Add a 1” round double-sided tape to the back of the NFC chip.
3. Install the badge
Align the tabs in the badge to the slots in the badge slot.
- For Stackers: Press-fit the badge into the lid of the Coinfinity Stacker.
- For Universal use: Use an adhesive round to mount the badge onto any surface you want to track. (Sealed mint tubes, Storage Containers, Tubes.)
4. Link to the Coinfinity App
Open the Coinfinity Mobile App and tap “Create New Stack”. Enter the information to describe your stack (gun safe, closet, safe deposit box, etc.). Save the stack, select “Write NFC”, and hold your phone over the badge to program the NFC chip. You can also create “Storage Units” and position them inside your stack. Both stacks and storage units are trackable with NFCs.
5. Create your own designs
Public Badges OnShape document
You can create a fork of this document and then create your own custom badges by using the examples. Create a derived part from the flat badge or universal badge and add your custom text or logo. Print them, stick, and track!
Tips & Notes
- Ensure the badge is clean and dry before inserting the NFC chip.
- Use a double-sided 1” tape round to secure each badge to the stacker.
-
Badges are optional; you can just stick the NFCs to anything.
Example Uses
- Track your 2023 Silver Eagle tube with a scan
- Stick a badge to your bullion vault box and log its contents
- Scan a slabbed coin and link to its PCGS record in the Coinfinity App
